The Italian football club Juventus has announced the signing of Chievo Verona striker Marco Materazzi on loan from Serie A club Juventus.

Materazzi will join the Serie A side in the coming months, with his contract set to run out at the end of the season.

"Marco Materazzi is a fantastic player who can play as a central midfielder or as a right winger," said Juventus coach Giuseppe Marotta. "His experience and skills make him a good choice for us."

Materazzi has already made a strong impression during his time at Inter Milan, scoring five goals in just six appearances for the Serie A team. He was also named the Serie A Player of the Month in November, after scoring seven goals in three matches against Sampdoria.

The move comes as a surprise for both Juventus and Materazzi, who have been linked with a move to Serie A rivals Napoli. The move could potentially help Materazzi improve his chances of making it to the Serie A ranks.
